2026/2027 Admission Timeline
Application Window Open
Purchase and complete your application form through the Admissions Portal. Submit all required documents online.
Screening Exercise
Attend the physical screening exercise at the main campus with your original credentials and UTME result slip.
Admission Lists Released
Merit and supplementary admission lists are published on the portal and notice boards.
Matriculation Ceremony
Admitted students complete registration and participate in the official matriculation ceremony.

Entry Requirements
National Diploma Entry
For SSCE holders seeking a foundational tertiary qualification in technology, business, or applied sciences.
Including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB).
A minimum JAMB UTME score as determined by the institution for the current session.
Candidates must be at least 16 years of age at the time of admission.
Successful participation in the polytechnic's screening exercise.
Higher National Diploma Entry
For ND holders ready to specialise and advance into senior technical or managerial roles.
A recognised ND in a cognate programme from an NBTE-accredited polytechnic, with a minimum of Lower Credit.
Minimum of 12 months post-ND supervised work experience (SIWES does not count towards this).
Five credits including English and Mathematics, relevant to the chosen HND programme.
Successful completion of the polytechnic's HND screening and interview.
Part-Time Programmes
Designed for working professionals who want to earn a nationally recognised qualification without leaving employment.
Part-time ND and HND programmes follow the same academic requirements as their full-time equivalents.
Classes held on weekday evenings and weekends to accommodate working professionals.
Part-time HND candidates must provide proof of current employment in a relevant field.

Create an Account
Register on the Admissions Portal using your valid email address. Verify your account through the confirmation link sent to your inbox.
Pay Application Fee
Purchase the application form online through Remita or any supported payment gateway. Keep your RRR or receipt number safe.
Complete Your Form
Fill in your bio-data, academic records, and programme choices. Upload passport photographs and scanned credentials.
Attend Screening
Print your acknowledgement slip and attend the physical screening exercise with original documents on the scheduled date.

- ✓ Local Government identification letter
- ✓ Passport photographs (6 recent copies)
- ✓ Printed acknowledgement slip
- ✓ Application fee payment receipt

In addition to the above:
- ✓ National Diploma certificate/statement
- ✓ ND transcript (sent directly to Registrar)
- ✓ SIWES logbook and report
- ✓ Letter of industrial experience
- ✓ Employment letter (if applicable)

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the application fee for 2026/2027?
The application fee for both ND and HND programmes is determined by the Academic Board at the start of each admission cycle. Please refer to the Admissions Portal or contact the Admissions Office for the current fee schedule.
Can I apply for more than one programme?
Yes. During the application process, you may select up to two programme choices in order of preference. If you do not meet the cut-off for your first choice, you may be considered for your second choice, subject to availability.
Is there accommodation available on campus?
Yes, the polytechnic operates hostels for both male and female students. Accommodation is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis to admitted students who complete their registration early. Hostel fees are paid separately.
What happens if I miss the screening date?
The polytechnic may conduct a supplementary screening exercise for candidates who were unable to attend the main screening, subject to approval by the Academic Board. You should contact the Admissions Office immediately if you anticipate missing your scheduled date.
Do you accept transfer students from other polytechnics?
Yes, inter-institutional transfers are considered on a case-by-case basis. Transfer candidates must have completed at least one academic session at an NBTE-accredited polytechnic and meet the minimum CGPA requirement set by the relevant school. Please contact the Registrar's Office for the transfer application form.
Are there scholarships or financial aid available?
Federal Polytechnic, Ekowe participates in several scholarship schemes including PTDF, TETFUND-sponsored awards, and state government bursaries for indigenes. High-performing admitted students are also eligible for internal merit scholarships. Details are published each session on the Students' Affairs notice board.
