Background & Operational History
🏛️ Establishment & Evolution
- Legislative Foundation: Established under the amended Federal Polytechnic Act 1990 by the 6th National Assembly and assented into law in July 2007 by President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, GCFR. It is the first Federal higher institution established in Bayelsa State.
- Commencement: Full academic operations commenced in 2009 at the acquired premises in Ekowe.
- Supervision: Initially established under the Ministry of Petroleum Resources as a specialized national training hub for the oil and gas sector, administrative oversight was subsequently transferred to the Federal Ministry of Education.
