About Us

The Directorate for Research and Development of Federal Polytechnic Ekowe was established as an integral part of the academic planning system. Initially under the Academic Planning Division, it later became a standalone directorate as approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). The directorate fosters innovative ideas, supports research initiatives, and drives advancements in science, technology, engineering, and entrepreneurship for national development.

Profile of the Directorate

Established in 2018, the Directorate serves as an administrative hub for research and development. It was pioneered by Dr. Olusegun A. Kuforiji under the Rectorship of Dr. Enetimi I. Seiyaboh. The current director, Dr. Blessing C. Okogbue, a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Oceanography and Fisheries Science, continues to enhance research practices through training in modern research tools, artificial intelligence, and technical report writing.
