The Department of Welding and Fabrication Engineering Technology at Federal Polytechnic Ekowe is committed to producing highly skilled and industry-ready professionals in modern metalworking and fabrication techniques. Accredited during the 2022/2023 academic session, the programme combines strong theoretical foundations with hands-on training in welding processes such as SMAW, MIG, TIG, and oxy-acetylene welding. Students are trained in metal cutting, bending, rolling, drilling, and fabrication using modern tools and equipment, with emphasis on safety, quality control, engineering drawing interpretation, and entrepreneurial skills. Through practical workshops, industrial attachments, and applied research, the department prepares graduates for careers in fabrication, construction, oil and gas, manufacturing, and self-employment. Our goal is to equip students with the competence and creativity needed to meet the demands of today’s engineering industries.
